Sr.
Electrical Design Engineer (P.E.)
|

Employee shall report directly to the Electrical Department Manager, Fagen Engineering LLC Southeast Regional Office, located in Greenville, SC.
|

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform electrical distribution design and specifications for both medium (5 kV to 35 kV) and low voltage (600V and below) systems for industrial plants and other facilities.
- Perform lighting design, specifications, and calculations.
- Perform design of control wiring, power wiring and specifications for PLC and DCS controlled motors and instrumentation.
- Perform life safety system design and specifications.
- Coordinate electrical design with other trades (in-house design and sub-contract) including architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil/site utility engineering.
- Review, stamp, and sign design documents prepared by you and others under your direct supervision.
- Assist in the maintenance and archiving of design documents.
- Assist in the development and implementation of CADD standards.
- Review of vendor shop drawings.
- Performance of field observation of construction project progress and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED
SKILLS :
- Ability to work together with management, other employees, clients, vendors and field craft supervisors.
- Knowledge of AutoCADD software and the preparation of Electrical Contract Documents for Design Build and Design-Bid-Build Industrial Projects.
- Knowledge of and experience in the design of the electrical interface for industrial control systems for motors and instruments, and preparation of motor control diagrams, instrument loops, junction box details, cable schedules and miscellaneous wiring diagrams. Familiarity with PLC and Digital control systems.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheets.
- Ability to learn and utilize other engineering software programs. These programs include lighting design software (point to point calculations of indoor and outdoor lighting), industrial piping and tank heat trace design; and breaker coordination, ground fault, short circuit and arc flash analysis software.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum.
- Registered Professional Engineer, with the ability to become registered in multiple states. NCEES registration preferred.
